Abstract Intensive agriculture has led to several environmental impacts, such as soil erosion, water scarcity, and pesticide pollution. Despite the increasing research advocating greener agriculture, transition into sustainable practices been slower than expected. Then, why are we stuck in this transition? In scientific essay, aimed answer question not only by analyzing agricultural systems but also associated actors. Specifically, essay analyzed discussed how integrate with surrounding market, society, policies. We made a literature review of impacts intensive on global change an analysis systems. policies can influence from addition, complement that survey Chile. Our highlighted ecological intensification (EI) most promising production system terms sustainability. (2) Markets standardize eco-labels, improve clarity foodstuff information, relate benefits consumer benefits. (3) A subsidy is needed keep regular prices attract new consumers, least early stages.
